A few new things

Well, here I am again...I've not been very productive lately. Just feeling out of sorts and uninspired. I find it hard to work on anything at times because all of my supplies are scattered in several different areas. I spend as much time looking for something as I do actually creating anything! At least it seems that way. Anyway...I did make a little something to add to this month's BBB on the PWA site. It's a beaded trinket box. Everything has to have microbeads on it in some way or another. I had an unfinished box so I just painted it, added an image and then beaded and embossed the lid. I think it came out nicely. Everyone adds things throughout the month and then on the first day of the new month thee's a drawing and the winner takes all the entries. I'll keep you posted and let you know if I won! tonight I've been working on a little collage card. I've got it part way done...here's what I have so far. I'm not sure what else I'm going to add but it needs something...

Admit one

Yahoo!! I finished the last of the ATC dolls for the Arttechniques swap! It's another "doll parts" card. So, I have three variations of that design and three totally different designs. I think that'll be fine. The swap is 6 for 5. I send in 6 cards and will get 5 in return. The hostess has yet to decide what she will do with the extra card but for now she'll just keep it. Now I can get them in the mail tomorrow and then wait to see what I get in return. I had posted the first two doll parts cards on the Atcards site and got a few requests for trades so I may make a few more and try and trade them there. We'll see. For now I'm happy this swap is completed and I can send them off. I still seem to get attached to the cards I make and almost hate to send them off when I'm finished. When I've been in a swap where I have to make a certain number of the same design it's easy to keep one for myself. But with these one of a kind designs I can't do that. I guess the newness will wear off soon and it won't be so hard to let them go...anyway, here's the last one!

ATC Dolls

Here are the ATC dolls I've made for the Art doll swap with the Arttechniques group. I have one more to make and I'm determined to get it done tonight. Hopefully, I'll have another photo to post in the morning!

Katie

Well, here are two photos of our Katie. Isn't she a doll? And such a great kid too. We've been caught up in a whirlwind ever since graduation. I think she had a great time...at least it didn't rain! Megan was able to come home for the graduation and Granny was here as well. After everyone left we got ready and took off for San Francisco. We had a fun trip. San Francisco is a beautiful city and we got to see most of the things we had talked about. I was a little disappointed in the Golden Gate Bridge though...it's NOT golden! Oh well, I guess I just thought it was....

Since we've been back we've been busier than ever. Work's been very hectic with staff out on vacation or just plain out. Working short handed is never fun! On a more pleasant front I've been working on several swaps for different groups I'm in. I've joined a group called Pennywise Arts and I believe it's the friendliest group I've ever been a part of. It's based here locally...well on the other side of the water...but at least close enough that there's a chance to get together with some of the folks involved now and then. I've received some lovely cards from some of the gals and plan to post the photos here soon.

KT, Q and I attended her orientation for Seattle University this week as well. She seems very excited about the school and I have to say I was very impressed with the school myself. The head of the physics department talked to me at length about the program and how happy he is to have Katie enrolled for the fall. I think it says alot about a school when the head of the department takes that kind of time with you. I'm excited for Katie as she starts this new chapter in her life. I'll miss her terribly though...
